Description
Three people are credited with this salmon fly; James Wright, PS Wilkinson and Mr Greenwell. It is thought to have been originally tied by James Wright and then developed by Wilkinson and Greenwell. The end result is a visually stunning fly, particularly the Temple Dog variant. It is a very old fly and along with the Aglaia thought to be the first fly tied on an entirely silver body. A very bright fly it had slipped out of use until one of Iceland’s best know fishers, Arni Baldursson revitalized it and has become increasingly popular ever since, particularly, the long-tailed and Temple Dog versions. It is considered by many as one of the finest bright weather salmon flies around.
