The Mexican Cuba Libre Gotcha Shrimp is a warm-toned saltwater flat pattern tied on the battle-tested Gotcha shrimp template, one of the most consistently productive bonefish flies in tropical fly fishing. The Cuba Libre colorway draws on deep ambers, rich browns, and flashes of gold to replicate the darker, caramel-toned shrimp species found across Mexican and Caribbean flats, making it a strong choice in stained water, overcast conditions, or over darker grass and mud bottoms.

Like all Gotcha-style patterns, the fly is tied sparse and slim to sink quickly and efficiently through the water column, with bead-chain or lead eyes that ride hook point-up for a snag-resistant presentation over grass, coral, and soft bottom. The warm, reflective body material pulses on the retrieve, imitating the darting escape motion of a fleeing shrimp and provoking the predatory response in bonefish, permit, and triggerfish.
