Description
The Amsel Fly was originally created on the Umba River in Russias Kola Peninsula. The original version was tied as a Zonker but having achieved great success it made the transition to all the alternate variations. Especially effective during the autumn season and anywhere the water runs with a peaty / tea tinge. Particularly suited to both Scottish Salmon rivers as well as Russias Kola Peninsula. Seems to produce results on a rising river.
Tied on a black Nickel Loop Double hook. Chemically sharpened and super strong these are widely acknowledged as one of the benchmark, premium quality, big fish salmon hooks.
