The Snaelda is a hugely popular Icelandic pattern.  Icelanders have taken this fly pattern to every great salmon river in the world and replicated its success wherever they have fished.  Small tungsten tube versions drop into deep tight pockets whilst the larger variations have resulted in enticing 30 & 40lb fish to take where others have failed.
